Like a Leaf …

No doubt, life can be chaotic at times.  Do you ever feel like a leaf in a wild whitewater river, being swept along utterly out of control?  Just remember to look for a rock to cling to, a momentary respite from the maelstrom.

But life does go on, so catch your breath, rest a moment, and prepare for the next challenge that is sure to come.  And think how boring it would be without these trials to test us.

I found this scene in a small public park in Buena Vista, Colorado.

Transition

Ducks seem to be equally at home either in the air or in the water. But, the transition can be difficult.

Air to water doesn’t look too bad as long as the water is relatively smooth and they can make a nice landing.

However, trying to get airborne from the water is a totally different story. They literally have to “walk on the water” for several steps as their wings beat furiously until they can build up enough speed to liftoff and “Slip the Surly Bonds of Earth”.*
